“Inspiring students to connect with Christ, own their faith, and impact their world”
ParentsIt is our job in Student Ministry to help and support the parents' role in the guiding and raising of your teen. Proverbs 22:6 says, "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." We are here as a resource in the Biblical teaching & training of your child.
Here are a couple of frequently asked questions in Student Ministry:
Q: "How do I get my son/daughter involved in The FUMC Student Ministry?"
This is probably the most frequently asked question in Student Ministry. The tough part is, there is no one right answer for every student. We offer many different ways to get connected to the Student Ministry. We have a student worship service on Sunday evenings where we try to give students the opportunities to take ownership by using there talents and giftings. Click here to see the different Ministry Teams that your teen can get involved with. This is a perfect opportunity for a student to connect with other friends as well as the Student Ministry staff. Another way to get your student connected is to get them involved in our Wednesday Night Bible study group. For Junior High students, this happens on Wednesday Night at 6:30 pm at the church. For High School students, this happens on Wednesday nights in our Area Bible Studies. Another way to get your son/daughter involved in the ministry is to come to an event. Because of all the events we have, it may be a lot less threatening to come to an event rather than a church service or Bible study. The student ministry staff wants to do whatever is possible in order for your student to get involved in the ministry. There is no greater thing your son/daughter could be involved in than The Student Ministry at FUMC.
Q: How do I, as a parent, get involved in The Student Ministry?
There are numerous ways for you, as a parent or guardian, to get involved in The FUMC Student Ministry. The easiest way to be involved is to pray for The Student Ministry on a regular basis. Although there are a lot of things going on in the ministry, none of those things make any kind of significant difference without God’s power. As far as physically getting involved in the ministry, there are tons of ways to get plugged in. First you need to check out our Volunteer Page and click on the Student Ministry Book. This will give you the information of what we are looking for in a volunteer. Every adult volunteer will need to fill get and fill out an Application and Background Check Form. Turn those into Kyle and he will get in contact and find out where you could get plugged in. The Student Ministry staff would love to have you be a part of the team!
